Vuelvo hoy por primera vez desde aquella \u00e9poca, en un tren de vapor, como vuestro primer magistrado. La locomotora, despu\u00e9s de haber recorrido centenares de leguas, ha entrado, por fin, a la tierra prometida. La tierra del sol ardiente, del suelo fecundo y del laurel altivo, que ha abandonado sus frondosas hojas para alfombrar su paso.
